Christmas and New Year in a Mallorca finca: the whole house for your family

Can you rent a whole finca in Mallorca for Christmas? Yes. At La Casa de los Grandes the whole estate, both the main house and the guest house, is yours over Christmas and New Year, with no other guests and no owners on site. The minimum stay in this period is five nights, and the house sleeps twelve adults, plus up to two baby cots.

Why a finca for Christmas

Most families who rent for Christmas want one thing: everyone together without a hotel dining room. A finca gives you a kitchen, a long table, a warm house in the evening and space for the children to run. The weather is mild, usually around 16°C by day in December, so lunch on the porch in a jumper is realistic.

What a Christmas week looks like

• Arrival and a quiet first evening. Supermarkets are 10 minutes away in the village; stock up before the shops close for the holiday.
• Christmas Eve and Day. Cook together, or ask us about a private chef for the main meal.
• The days between. A walk in the hills, a morning in Palma to see the lights, and an afternoon doing nothing.
• Three Kings. On the night of 5 January the towns hold parades; children put out shoes for the Kings.
• New Year. A long dinner at the table, then the quiet countryside at midnight.

Practicalities

• Minimum stay: five nights at Christmas and New Year.
• Sleeps twelve adults across six bedrooms, with bedrooms 1, 3 and 4 set up as a king or as twins.
